About Me...

Hello, I’m Monica.

In 2012, a friend recommended a clay crafting class and invited me to join. I happily agreed—and after completing my very first class, I completely fell in love with this delicate and creative art form.

Although this hobby requires a significant investment in materials, tools, and miniature accessories, my passion for clay art has never faded.

Interestingly, my clay food models often fool quite a few people—especially in photos. Once, I gave my mother a 1:1 scale chocolate model, and she almost took a real bite!

In short, this hobby has brought me countless moments of joy.
The creative process can be challenging and requires a great deal of patience, yet the sense of fulfillment upon completing a piece is indescribable—and I’m always eager to share that joy with others.

Although friends have suggested that I consider selling my work, this is not the direction I aspire to pursue. Instead, I realized that there seems to be a lack of clay craft instructors in Canada, which inspired me to share the skills I have learned with more clay enthusiasts. Since 2025, I have been dedicating myself to this passion as a side endeavor (as I still hold a full-time job), continuing my studies while participating in overseas teacher training courses, with the hope of promoting clay crafting in Canada. The road ahead may be uncertain, but this is something I truly enjoy, and I want to give it a try.

If you’re interested in clay crafts, you’re very welcome to join my classes! I specialize in creating miniature clay food models. As I’m originally from Hong Kong, the classes are primarily conducted in Cantonese. However, if needed, I can also consider teaching in Mandarin or English. I also hope to use clay to recreate more dishes that are uniquely Hong Kong–inspired. That said, with limited time, the development process is a bit slow. Thank you so much for your understanding. Haha.

There are more photos of my work on Facebook and Instagram. Feel free to check them out!

P.S. As for why I chose the name “Orangio Craft”, it’s simply because I love the color orange and oranges. ^o^
